Yet another use of business surveillance is for the collection of marketing information. Consumer interests and buying patterns are monitored in order to sell more products. The privacy issues are not clearly separated with respect to the reasons for use of surveillance in particular situations. Provision of government services can be made contingent on the requirement for individuals to carry specific identification cards. This can be argued both as an affront to individual privacy and as an anti-fraud measure to provide efficient, theft-proof benefits such as
