On the whole this is an extremely well written book . The presentation of various concepts ar e thorough and highly scholarly. It is an excellent reference book for any one who is interested i n temporal logic as such, or the use of temporal logic in the specification of reactive and concurren t systems . This will also be an excellent book that can be used for a senior level undergraduat e course or graduate level course on concurrency and temporal logic . The book is self contained . It motivates various concepts through the use of a variety of elegant examples . Some of the detaile d proofs are rightly avoided to make the book readable even for a non-expert in this area . At the en d of each chapter, a number of problems, classified according to their degree of difficulty, are given . A . P .
