It ™s understandable if right now you ™re thinking of a certain movie and subsequent TV show though the battle in question is not Highlander but rather Highdefinition. Remembering VHS versus Betamax and thus seeking an early answer to the Blu-ray versus HD DVD question, I attended the Blu-ray Disc Association ™s CES press conference, where Lionsgate President Steve Beeks said œBlu-ray ™s emergence as the format of choice is now inevitable.  Fig. 1. Beeks was referring to the fact that just two days earlier, Warner Brothers had announced that they were abandoning their policy of supporting both competing formats and going exclusively with Blu-ray as of May 2008. Warners joined Disney, Fox and Sony in supporting Blu-ray only, while Paramount and Universal remained in the HD DVD camp.
