The use of the computer to replace the traditional O x b e r r y camera stands through scanning, coloring and compositing as well as creating the camera moves has now brought animation out of the hands of the large studios and into anyone's home_ For less than $5,000, you can have the desktop equivalent that a studio in the past would have housed in at least three different r o o m s and been staffed w i t h at least 10 p e o p l e . Yes, things have d r a m a t i c a l l y changed...technically but not fundamentally. W h a t do I mean by fundamentally? The basic thought process is still the same as it was back in the 1930s.
