As INTERVIEWEDBYRAY POLIVKA NOVEMBER, X996 QQ:I am interviewing Yaron Avitov of SunGard Capital Markets here at the APL2000 Users' Conference in Orlando, Florida. Tell me something about your company, who they are, what they do, who they serve, and that sort of thing. Yaron: SunGard Capital Markets is a subsidiary of SunGard Data Systems. We develop software packages for the derivatives business. Most of our clients are large financial intuitions, banks around the world, brokerage firms or various investment agencies. Our key product, the Devon System, is an investment support package which is used for trading of Derivatives and other financial instruments as well as for managing these investments in terms of valuation, profit and loss, general ledger and a lot more. The product covers every aspect of dealing with such financial instruments such as FX derivatives, interest rate products, securities, equities, commodities and others. in Philadelphia, London and New York. We also have about 13 support offices around the world in major financial cities. QQ: How do you serve your clients--as consultants or do you provide packages for them? Yaron: We provide software solutions to large financial institutions.
