Danilowic z Utica College of Syracuse Universit y Utica, NY 1350 2 Introductio n Many authors of textbooks in th e field of computer science have utilized quotations from the works of Charle s Lutwidge Dodgson, better known as Lewi s Carroll, to enhance their own work . That hi s fiction could be relevant to compute r science should not be surprising sinc e Dodgson spent nearly half a century as a Mathematical Lecturer at Christ Church , Oxford . In between his works of fiction , published under the pen name of Lewi s Carroll, Dodgson produced textbooks o n mathematics (Wakeling, 6) . Because of th e importance of mathematics in compute r science, some of the material in these text s could be used in teaching about computers . However, it is the fiction of Dodgson , because of its familiarity, which has bee n used as the source for many entertainin g quotations which have often made som e complex topics a little more understandabl e and certainly more enjoyable .
