Textbooks I have previewed three nice textbooks in this column. One is (again) from our own M a r k A l l e n Weiss, entitled Algorithms, Problem Solving, and Data Structures with C++. Mark was kind enough to format his preface and table of contents in the proper form with IgTEX , which I much appreciate. (What I would really like to know is where Mark gets the energy to write all of the books that bear his name.) The other two books were sent to me by the publishers, and therefore have slightly shorter previews. One is a new book by Gilles B r a s s a r d and P a u l B r a t l e y . Many readers will remember their 1988 graduate-level textbook, Algorithmics: Theory and Practice, which was previewed some time ago in this column. The new book is not just a new edition of the old, but is claimed to be aimed at undergraduates. Finally, the book Compiler Design by R e i n h a r d W i l h e l m and D i e t e r M a u
