FROM THE EDITOR ACM SIGGRAPH: Individual Experiences Shared for the Good of All Patricia Galvis-Assmus Computer Graphics Editor Much of the value of belonging to an organization like ACM SIGGRAPH is to learn from one another. ACM SIGGRAPH provides us with access to peers beyond our own offices, studios, classrooms and labs. This, of course, allows each of us to grow from the knowledge and experience of many talented computer graphics professionals. This issue of Computer Graphics is a perfect example. We are exposed to the thoughts of a visualization expert in California, an artist/educator in Colorado and a technical art director in Vancouver. We see reports on activities coming out of the ACM SIGGRAPH chapters in Canada, as well as a couple worldwide conferences devoted to aspects of computer graphics education. As we read about other s day-to-day efforts in their very different workplaces and learn that groups of our peers gather to learn from the past and plan for the future, we know that we are a part of something very special. Where are your energies being utilized these days? How can your experiences benefit other members? What do you want to hear about from your peers? Computer Graphics wants to hear from you.
