The Madison Optimization Applications Laboratory, MOAL, is an organization which is being established to provide extensive services in the theoretical and computational applications of optimization techniques. The establishment of a similar service, "The Systems Optimization Laboratory," was proposed by G. B. Dantzig in a talk at the Advanced Seminar on Mathematical Programming at the University of Wisconsin - Madison on September 11-13, 1972.
