Lunetta The University of Connecticut In spite of the problems and limitations evident to contemporary practitioners, long term. computers do have extensive potential in education on the Yet, if computers are to be utilized on any sizeable scale in secondary education on the short term, then good software packages must be developed which may be used in existing courses on computer systems which are already accessible in those schools. Many secondary schools now have terminals as part of a time or could readily have one or two teletypewriter sharing system. The limited number of terminals which are available in secondary schools today very often do not receive optimum use due to a lack of appropriate software. They are currently used or misused largely in a problem solving mode which is supplemented by numerous games which are quite often irrelevant to the educational program. One of the purposes of my present study has been to develop and evaluate a series of simulation dialogs for use in secondary schools which would provide support in a fundamental portion of an existing course.
