**A SIGBIO FILE OF BIOMEDICAL CONPUTING POSITIONS AND POTENTIAL CANDIDATES FOR SUCH POSITIONS** It is not infrequent for many of our members to be asked either about potential career opportunities available for individuals interested in health computing positions or about what individuals might possibly be available to fill certain types of positions. As a new effort for SIGBIO, your officers would like to explore the notion that the organization may be able to perform a useful function as a central repository for job opportunities in biomedical computing. SIGBIO Will establish a file of openings in health computing arid of resumes of individuals interested in finding positions. Depending on the demand for this type of activity, it may or may not be necessary to invest further resources into maintaining such a file and corresponding with individuals seeking positions and with organizations looking for individuals with expertise in biomedical computing. In order to initiate this activity and to assess whether there is a significant demand, the Membership Chairman, Howard Thompson, has agreed to serve as a custodian of a SIGBIO file of available positions and resumes of individuals seeking potential openings.
