Following the ACM/IEEE Design Automation Conference on June 16, 1988, a IEEE-DASS-VHDL Model Subgroup meeting was convened by the chairman Dr. James Armstrong, for soliciting VHDL model recommendations from industry, government and academia. This position paper has been prepared for the VHDL standard package sub-task group for development of a working draft of the standard as requested by the chairman.
