The past year has been a good one for the Newsletter with an interesting variety of papers and short contributions. Your response to my appeals for material has been super and I thank you for your help. Actually, I have several papers now ready for publication in future issues, but please don't let this fact deter you from sending more. I hope that with expanded submissions, we can make a case for a larger page allotment. ASSETS 97 is still up in the air, so to speak. After some lengthy discussions, we have decided that Albuquerque may not be the best location for the meeting for tea- sons of access and proximity, in time, to a conference with similar thrust. So, Ephriam, Meera and I are searching for a different location, preferably co-located with another conference of similar content. If you have any ideas, please don't hesitate to share them with us.
