Because the organizing committee was extremely frugal in its expenditures, attendees were able to enjoy top--quality meals as an integral part of the program for a registration fee just slightly more than that charged by other conferences which do not provide a similar benefit. The bottom line for ASSETS'94 was a net loss of just under $2,000, which I view as quite satisfactory under the circumstances. What's Inside (In Detail) Fellow SIGCAPH members, I am truly pleased to be able to report to you that your SIG continues to make great strides on the road to viability! A major recent event for the SIG was ASSETS'94, the First International ACM/SIGCAPH Conference on Assistive Technologies, which was held at the Doubletree Hotel in Marina del Rey (Los Angeles), California, on October 31 and November 1 of 1994.
