The FAMULUS documentation system is a very capable system for preparing and manipulating a set of records which constitutes a bibliography, a teaching aids list, or any other list of items with relatively static descriptors. The system was developed in 1969 by the Pacific Southwest Forest and Range Experiment Station, Berkeley, California and refined in 1972 at University College London. FAMULUS consists of a number of separate programs which can be used to create, edit, sort, index, and search a file of records. Each record can have up to ten fields and a total length of up to 4000 characters.
