Abstract
The process of supervision includes the transmission of values. Although the professional values of supervisors may not be discussed openly, they are clearly perceived by trainees and may be an enduring legacy. Core values that are proposed include the privilege of being a psychiatrist, the evolving knowledge base of the field, a focus upon the patient's story, and the significance of adversity in life and in practice.Preview Only.
