tion of enrollees (33 percent), followed by transportation (14 percent), clinic treatment (12 percent), continuing treatment ( 12 percent), social clubs ( 10 percent), on-site rehabilitation (7 percent), day training (7 percent), sheltered workshops (3 percent), and crisis visits (2 percent). The remaining services (day treatment, screening, and homemakinghousekeeping) together accounted for less than 1 percent of the clients enrolled in the various services. The New York City region, which had 24 percent ofCSS clients, differed significantly from the rest of the state in several respects. Seventy-five percentofCSS clients in New York City received only one type of service, compared with 64 percent of clients in the state as a whole. Outside New York City, if a client was enrolled in only one program in a county where other CSS services were available, that service was most likely to be case management. However, in New York City only 6 percent of the single-service users were enrolled in freestanding case management programs. New York City also had much higher use of on-site rehabilitation services in adult homes.
