We have established a sensitive upper limit on φ φ resonance production by 350-GeV/ c protons incident on a beryllium target. The 90%-confidence-level upper limit varies from 1.5× 10 - 30 cm 2 /nucleon at M φ φ = 2.8 G e V / c 2 to 6.0× 10 - 32 cm 2 /nucleon at M φ φ = 3.4 G e V / c 2 . We observe no evidence of the η c .
