The difference between the polarization and analyzing power for the reaction He 3 ( p , n ) He 3 has been calculated in a 4 ℏ ω model space within the framework of the generalized R -matrix method of Lane and Robson. The model calculations indicate neither the presence of f wave components nor a significant sensitivity of the P - A difference to the position of the He 4 levels. NUCLEAR REACTIONS P y - A y difference for the H 3 ( p , n ) He 3 reaction.
