The DeepDyve Story

DeepDyve was founded with the mission to make authoritative information more affordable and accessible to users who are "unaffiliated" with a large institution and therefore lack easy and affordable access to authoritative sources of information. We want to empower information professionals by providing a convenient and cost effective service for accessing academic and professional research that is vital to fostering discovery and innovation.

Today, "unaffiliated users" are frustrated by: 1) the inefficiency of having to visit multiple sites to get access to important research articles; 2) the cost of spending hundreds of dollars for a single subscription or $30 or more for a single article; and 3) the uncertainty that their limited funds may be spent on an article that does not fully meet their needs.

With DeepDyve's rental service, we hope to address these challenges. First, by aggregating millions of premier articles in one place, all your articles are just 1-click away. Second, thru our innovative rental service, we allow you to read-only the full article from our site for a fraction the cost of purchasing the PDF; and finally, once you’ve read the article, you can purchase it later with the assurance that it exactly meets your needs and your money will be well-spent.

We hope you try our service, we've made it risk-free with a 14-day free trial. Give it a try and tell us what you think — and once again, thanks for your interest in DeepDyve!
