Ov. S. Crohmalniceanu publ. Literatura romans intre cele cloud ritzboaie mondiale, 11 , Poezia, Minerva; in all probability, a third vol. will complete the series. The book is fundamentally the expanded version and reflection of a univ. course of lectures; the various aspects of the lit. phenomenon are dealt with didactically from the biographi- cal, descriptive, and bibl. points of view. The main focus of the second vol. is placed on poetry, 1920-40. E. Papu, hire Marea Nordului, Meridiane, provides a learned account of the Rumanian angle of vision of culture and art in central Europe. Al. Piru, Relexe i interference, Scrisul Romanesc, is another coll. of previously publ. articles; attempts to universalize and pitch Rumanian lit. against the rest of the world are present in this case too, particularly in the article 'Dante §1 literatura romans'.
