Graesse, Orbis Latinus, Amsterdam, Griiner, 287 pp., and Mittellateinische Dichtung (Wege den Forschung, 149), ed. K. Langosch, Darmstadt, \Vissenschaftliche Buchgesellschaft, 480 pp., is really a reprinting (in some cases it is a transl. into German) of previously publ. arts by various scholars. As might be expected, most of the arts discuss topics of interest to German medievalists. By the same ed. and publisher is a colI. of texts Lyrische Anthologie des lateinischen Mittelalters, 1968, 372 pp., all of which have previously been publ. elsewhere. Langosch is to be congratulated for making much material accessible even if he does little to further our knowledge. This year two aids to paleography have appeared. Of general interest is S.
