No significant general studies on the Enlightenment, Neoclassicism and Romanticism in Spain have come to our notice, although Rene Wellek's 'The Term and Concept of "Classicism" in Literary History', Actes du IV Congres de l'Association In ternationale de Litterature Comparee, Fribourg, I964, ed. F. Jost, The Hague-Paris, Mouton, 1966, 1,049-67, not previously mentioned, will be useful to hispanists despite its virtually complete lack of references to Spain. An invaluable reprint of articles by V. Llorens under the general title Literatura, historia, politica. Ensayos, M, Revista de Occidente, 1967, 236 pp., constitutes a guide to important aspects of Spanish lit. in the early 19th c., and more particularly to be noted here is 'De la elegia a la sitira patri6tica', 75-88. R. P.
