THE AFRICAN PEER-REVIEW MECHANISM AT TEN: FROM LOFTY GOALS TO PRACTICAL IMPLEMENTATION Adejoké Babington-Ashaye* Counsel at the World Bank Administrative Tribunal. Prior to joining the World Bank she was an Associate Legal Officer at the International Court of Justice and an investigator in the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court. She is Co-Chair of the Africa Committee, American Bar Association Section of International Law and the Director of Programmes of the African Association of International Law. She holds a LLM in Public International Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science and is a qualified New York Attorney. This paper was presented at a conference on International Law in Africa: Human Security, Peace and Development: Challenges & Responses, 5-6 October 2012 in Maputo, Mozambique.
