The Italian Constitutional Court's contribution to the application of inter- national law in Italy over its 20-odd years of life falls within the region of a hundred decisions (both judgments and orders). Such a contribution has a considerable size; it is note-worthy, however, for its quality, too. The decisions delivered by the Court touch upon topics of an extreme interest such as, e.g.: application of European Communities law and various European multilateral Conventions; relations between Italy and Holy See; Italians regions and Inter- national Law; treatment of aliens; protection of human rights; foreign States' immunity from jurisdiction; State powers on territorial sea and continental shelf. These topics have obviously been mainly dealt with from the point of internal law's compliance with international law; a point of view wich has led the Court to thoroughly explore the interaction between European Communities law and national rules. Starace and Decaro's collection is extremely useful not only in so far as it supplies an overall picture of the aforesaid decisions but also in the way it presents them.
