Report on the Centre de Droit Maritime et Oceanique* Maritime law and law of the sea have been taught for thirty years at the University of Nantes school of law. In the seventies, a maritime law center was created, transformed nowadays into a maritime and ocean law center, the Centre de Droit Maritime et Oceanique (CDMO). This research center has 8 Professors, 3 Assistant Professors, 2 assistants, 1 secretary and about 20 Ph.D. students. It is a documentary center for judicial sciences of the sea D.E.A. (a post-graduate diploma with twenty-five students a year). The Center is equipped with Mac and PC computers and is connected with the Campus Library and Internet. The Faculties and Ph.D. students of the CDMO yearly publish about twenty articles in the main French law reviews (Droit Maritime Franfais, Droit Social, Espaces et Resources Maritimes, Revue Juridique de l'Environment, Revue Générale de Droit International Public, Actualite Juridique de Droit Administrali�. They also publish books, including Le Contrat d'engagement maritime (CNRS Publications, 1993), Droit de l'urbanisme communal (Juris Service Publisher, 1993), Droit de 1environment en Amerique tropicale, (R. J. E. Publisher, 1994), and in 1995, collectively, they published a two-volume book titled: Droits maritimes (Juris Service Publisher).
