CONSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENTS AND ACTIVITIES OF MAJOR PROGRAMS Membership of the Organization.-During the period under review, Bangladesh, Bahrain, the Bahamas, Cape Verde, Gabon, Jamaica, Papua New Guinea, and Surinam accepted the IMCO Convention, bringing the membership of the organization to 101 plus one associate member. Maritime Safety Committee.-The Maritime Safety Committee held its thirty-fourth and thirty-fifth sessions in May and September 1976. The committee considered the technical work of the organization related to maritime safety, which is described more fully in Section II of this report, and approved a number of recommendations for submission to the tenth assembly.
