T I L B U R G F O R E I G N L A W R E V I E W A B O U T T H E TILBURG F O R E I G N L A W R E V I E W On September 18th, 1991, the Dutch Minister o f Justice, E.M.H. Hirsch Ballin received the first issue of the Tilburg Foreign Law Review. The review is published by students of Tilburg University in cooperation with their local offices in countries all over the world. At the present time the word isolationalism appears to be a term of the past. With the modern world's increase in communication and decline in barriers between nations, international contacts are increasing continuously, and other cultures are more accessible than ever before. In this modern state of the world it is becoming much more necessary for a lawyer to be acquainted, on a comparative basis if possible, with law systems of foreign nations. It is for this reason that the Tilburg Foreign Law Review is of importance. It offers an opportunity to become familiar with and be quickly informed about legal aspects and developments within other countries. What distinguishes this journal from the many others? Admittedly there is a plethora of journals that cover domestic law of a single country or international community law. The Tilburg Foreign Law Review, however, covers simply the foreign laws of a variety of countries. This sets it apart from the majority. By creating a source solely for the study of foreign legislation and jurisprudence, we idealistically hope to create a better understanding between countries; thus, eventually create a more harmonious setting for international relations.
