Second, it s u m m a r i z e s the empir-ical evidence m e a s u r i n g wages, unemployment, a n d o c c u p a t i o n a l choices. Third, it i n v e s t i g a t e h o w m i g r a n t s affects the l a b o u r m a r k e t s o f t h e i r h o s t countries, a n d e v a l u a t e s e c o n o m e t r i c s t u d i e s into the w a g e a n d e m p l o y m e n t c o n s e q u e n c e s of immigration. Surprisingly, t h e r e is wide evidence t h a t i m m i g r a t i o n is l a r g e l y b e n e f i c i a l f o r r e c e i v i n g countries. There might b e p h a s e s o f adjustment, b u t there is no c o n v i n c i n g evidence t h a t n a t i v e s ' w a g e s a r e d e p r e s s e d o r u n e m p l o y m e n t i n c r e a s e s a s a c o n s e q u e n c e q f m i g r a n t inflow.
