Has the art of editing died? Do t h e editors at Peter Lang read beforehand what they publish? This volume is s o full of errors that o n e can only wonder. N a m e s are mangled, like "Vseslav" [p. 262]. hero of t h e "b'ilin'i [also spelled byliny]" (!) [p. 265], or S t e p h e n , S t e p h a n [p. 370-sic], and Stefan Dusan [p. 596]. The e n d n o t e s for chapter 1 are off by one. The in- dex lists only occasional references to items in the text and makes no references to the e n d n o t e s at all.
