AbstractAustinotheres new genus and Raymondia new genus are erected to receive as type species the oyster crab Pinnotheres angelicusLockington, 1877, which is redescribed, and the knife-clam crab Pinnotheres clavapedatusGlassell, 1935, respectively. Austinotheres can be separated from other Pinnotheridae by the combination of the following characters: walking legs 2 asymmetrical in length, and the third maxilliped having a carpus that is larger than the combined propodus and dactylus.
