Secretary Washington, D.C. August 1982 (hosted by the National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution) The meeting was called to order at 0900 hrs by President Raymond B. Manning. The following members were present: L. G. Abele, D. L. Felder. R. H. Gore, P. A. Haefner, Jr., C. W. Hart, Jr., H. H. Hobbs III, A. G. Humes, P. A. McLaughlin, A. J. Provenzano, and F. R. Schram. The Treasurer, C. W. Hart, Jr., presented a budget summary, including funds in the checking account and the Steadman Fund as well as outstanding invoices and unpaid obligations through 30 July 1982. The budget did not include those ex- penses that are covered through arrangements and allowances permitted and covered by institutions to which the officers belong. For example, costs of sec- retarial services and postage associated with newsletter production and mailing, and expenses of the editorial office, such as postage, photocopying, and proof- reading assistance, would have a considerable impact should the Society be asked to reimburse the institutions for these costs. Subjects under general discussion included the establishment of an endowment fund to assure coverage of journal expenses, the student membership category, the advisability of the Society processing
