Anläßlich des 65. Geburtstags von Wolfhart Heinrichs am 3. Oktober 2006 entstand diese Festschrift, die 21 Beiträge seiner Schüler und Kollegen versammelt. Die besondere Form der Artikel—sie behandeln jeweils einen arabischen Terminus bzw. eine Partikel in der alphabetischen Reihenfolge der Umschrift—ist Heinrichs als Enzyklopädisten geschuldet und unterstreicht auf humorvolle Art seine Verdienste für die Enclopaedia of Islam ( EI² , abgeschlossen 2010) und sein enzyklopädisches Wissen insgesamt, wie in den ‚Acknowledgments‘ (S. ix–xi) erklärt. Das Vorwort (S. xiv–ix) bringt einen biographischen Abriß und eine Liste der von Heinrichs sowohl als Doktorvater als auch als Gutachter betreuten Doktorarbeiten. Nach der tabula gratulatoria (S. xxi–xxiii) und Wolfhart Heinrichs’ Bibliographie (S. xxv–xxxiv) nebst der seiner Frau Alma Giese (S. xxxv f.) beginnt der erste Artikel mit der arabischen Pluralendung -āt . Kristen Brustad untersucht in „ -āt . Drink your milks! -āt as individual marker in Levantine Arabic“ (S. 1–19) den Gebrauch von -āt in der levantinischen Umgangssprache. Hierbei konstatiert sie unterschiedliche Funktionen der Pluralendung. Neben den aus dem klassischen Arabisch bekannten konzentriert sie sich auf die der Pluralmarkierung des durch tāʾ marbūṭa als Singular bezeichneten Gattungskollektivs, in der levantinischen Umgangssprache auch in der Funktion des nicht zählbaren pluralis paucitatis oder
