The House of the Friend

The House of the Friend GORDANA MIHAILOVA BOŠNAKOSKA THE HOUSE OF THE FRIEND It was getting dark, and Ida and Dela were losing all hope of finding the friend's house. They went from one lane to another, from one yard to another, but Ida just couldn't remember the house. Either the yard was right but not the house, or the house was but not the yard. Come on, where is it, Dela was angry. We've wasted the whole afternoon, now it's evening, and you still can't remember the house. Does your friend's house really exist, or are you looking for something you've forgotten or which doesn't ex- ist ? Please, Dela, be patient, Ida kept saying, I've a feeling now that we're in the lane, and somewhere in the middle, before it bends, the house will be there. They quickened their pace, and, look, Ida exclaimed, here's the house! Dela looked at the ne- glected yard, the wooden gate hanging on one hinge, and said, and you reckon somebody lives here, in this squalor, this over- grown yard, this house, please, Ida, look, there's no glass in the windows. Come on, there's nobody here. Let's go back, before we get completely lost. Even http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Southeastern Europe Brill
