<jats:sec><jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>Pseudomerodontina n.gen. is described from South India. Its relationships with its nearest genus Merodontina Enderlein, are shown. The type species, Pseudomerodontina jayaraji n.sp., is described and illustrated. A key to the six world genera of Ommatini is given: Michotamia Macquart, Merodontina Enderlein, Pseudomerodontina n.gen., Cophinopoda Hull, Emphysomera Schiner, and Ommatius Wiedemann.</jats:p> </jats:sec>
