London/Rome/New York: Oceana Publications, Inc., 1980. $75. 00/binder. ISBN 0-379-20699-4. (Individual binders may not be purchased separately.) Even for those persons who are able to consult foreign legal materials in the language of original publication, a translation of important documents into one's mother tongue is always a boon when the emphasis is on a quick survey of the relevant materials. And of course, for those who do not have access to the original foreign language sources or who are not conversant with the particular foreign language, a competent translation is a necessity. The prodigious output of William E. Butler, Professor of Comparative Law in the University of London, will certainly be familiar to scholars and practitioners of Soviet law. The volume under review contains reprints of Soviet-made Eng- lish-language translations of the 148 arbitration awards made by the USSR Foreign Trade Arbitration Commission (FTAC) during the period 1934-1965. In addition, Professor Butler has wisely chosen to include the Statutes and Rules of the FTAC of 1975, and the Maritime Arbitration Commission (MAC) of 1930 and 1949, http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Review of Socialist Law (in 1992 continued as Review of Central and East European Law) Brill
