TWO NEW SPECIES OF THE GENUS THORNENEMA ANDRASSY, 1959 FROM MANIPUR, INDIA BY M. SHAMIM JAIRAJPURI, MAQSOOD AHMAD and CH. DHANACHAND Section of Nematology, Department of Zoology, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh-202001 India T. caudatum n. sp. differs from T. thienemanni apud Jairajpuri, 1966 in having more posterior vulva and in the shape of the tail. T. longicaudatum n. sp. also comes very close to T. thienemanni and T. caudatum n. sp. but differs from both in having a very long tail. Two new species of Thornenema Andrássy, 1959 closely resembling T'. thiene- manni (Schneider, 1937 ) Andrássy, 1959 apud Jairajpuri, 1966 were present in soil samples collected from Imphal, Manipur State, India. These are described below: T hornenema caudatum n. sp. (Fig. 1) Dimensions: 16 Females (Paratypes): L = 0.60-0.89 mm; a = 22-31; b = 3.5-4.5; c = 8-10; c' = 3-4; V = 44-5212-1s. Female (Holotype): L = 0.86 mm; a = 31; b = 4.1; c = 9; c' = 4; V = 4714. De.rcription: Body short, almost straight upon fixation, and tapering towards both extremities. Cuticle finely striated, its thickness 1.0-5.0 pm at various places on the body, 4-5 pm at base of lip
