Tobriloides Choii N.Gen., N.Sp. (Tripylidae)

Tobriloides Choii N.Gen., N.Sp. (Tripylidae) TOBRILOIDES CHOII N.GEN., N.SP. (TRIPYLIDAE) BY P. A. A. LOOF Landbouwhogeschool, Wageningen, Netherlands A new genus and species Tobriloides choii is described and illustrated. It belongs in Tripylidae, subfamily Tobrilinae, differing from Tobrilus in the coiled female body posture, striated cuticle, four instead of three cardiac gland cells, cephalic sense organs in three instead of two circlets and in possessing only one stomatal pocket; in addition it shows some onchulid characters: structure of posterior part of oesophagus, huge cardia. A key to the subfamilies and genera of Tripylidae is given. In December 1968 Mr Y. E. Choi, Taegu, Korea, sent some nematode samples from his country. One of these contained several specimens which I first took to represent a species of Tobrilus. On closer examination, however, several im- portant structural differences from that genus were found, so that establishment of a new genus was necessary. TOBRILOIDES N.GEN. Diagnosis: Tripylidae, Tobrilinae. Body of female curved in death. Cuticle with distinct transverse striae. Stoma resembling that of Tobrilus, but with only one pocket-like extension. Oesophagus cylindrical, surrounding stomatal cavity and showing onchulid structure in the posterior part. Cardia huge; base of oesophagus surrounded by four cardiac gland cells. Female gonads http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Nematologica Brill
