Coming soon after Sein und Zeit, these lectures attempt to locate phenomenology as ontological science. Interestingly, Thomas Hobbes' Computatio sive logica, the first part of De corpore, is discussed in over a dozen printed pages in terms of Heidegger's assertion of and reaction to Hobbes' doctrine about being and truth. Heidegger does this in a section of his book entitled 'Arguments in the History of Logic', the specific sub-section of which is 'The being of the copula in the horizon of whatness (essentia) in Thomas Hobbes.'
