Gezien de omstandigheid dat Flinck een broeder had, die den weinig voorkomenden voornaam Amel- donck droeg, mag men wel aannemen dat hun vader, Theunis Govertsz. Flinck, gehuwd is geweest met een zuster van Jacob Ameldoncksz. Leeuw, den grootvader van David. Ook Dirck Leeuw, een oom van David, werd door Flinck in 1636 geportretteerd; dit stuk, eigendom van het Rijpenhofje te Amsterdam, bevindt zich eveneens in het Rijksmuseum (cat. no. 926). Abraham van den Tempel's Family Group in the Rijksmuseum by P. VAN EEGHEN Since 1902 a family group painted by Abraham van den Tempel in 1671 has been in the collection of the Rijksmuseum. It was donated by J. H. Willink van Bennebroek, and the persons represented in the painting were unknown. Genealogical investigations have brought to light that there was only one family among the donor's ancestors whose personalia tallied with those of this group: the
