Book Reviews / CHRC 87,2 (2007) 213-282 233 Andreas Gössner, Hrsg., Die Th eologische Fakultät der Universität Leipzig. Per- sonen, Profi le und Perspektiven aus sechs Jahrhunderten Fakultätsgeschichte [Beiträge zur Leipziger Universitäts- und Wissenschaftsgeschichte A2]. Evangelische Verlags- anstalt, Leipzig 2005, 488 S. ISBN 3374022553. € 38; CHF 66. Th e university of Leipzig was founded in 1409, and the twenty papers in this volume on the theological faculty were initially presented at a conference held in February 2004 to celebrate its imminent 600th anniversary. Th e book is divided into three sections, the fi rst on the early modern period, in fact primarily on the Reformation and the seventeenth century; the second on the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, with an emphasis on individuals who taught at Leipzig; and the third on the work produced by the faculty and the general direction of its teaching, above all from the nineteenth century to the present day. Th e Leipzig theological faculty has had some distinguished teachers over the centuries and has participated in some important projects. Two of the more interesting articles concern Albert Hauck’s preparation of the second and third editions of the great Realencyklopädie für protestantische Th eologie
