HUMAN CONFLICTS AND FAITH How to deal conscientiously with adversaries has become one of the most crucial issues of our times. There may be problems of greater gravity, such as the ruthless exploitation of the poor countries by industrial states, waste of natural resources, pollution, and destruction of our natural habitat, scientific progress with ensuing manipulation of mind, life, and death. None of these enigmas, however, poses - within the limits of this decade - questions so explosive and deadly as do the friend-foe relations, especially in international affairs. Survival of mankind depends on satisfactory solu- tions of the many conflicts which are lingering on in our societies and between nations and continents. Christians all over the world, and therefore in quite different historical, economic, and political contexts, are searching for orientation in the desperate decisions of life and death. Can the Bible, can the psalms offer some help?
