Can diplomacy save us?’ These are ambitious questions for practitioners and academics alike in the field of diplomacy. Costas Constanti- nou and James Der Derian have taken up the gauntlet in trying to answer these questions. Both scholars have long been preoccupied with theorizing and concep- tualizing diplomacy. This book’s goal is to rehabilitate diplomacy by proposing a new perspective that moves beyond the conventional dichotomy between theory and practice. Contributions from a heterogeneous group of authors were collected in order to achieve this, with each contribution dealing with a different aspect of sustainable diplomacy.
