T W O A S T R O N O M I C A L C O M P E N D I A I N T H E S P A N I S H N A T I O N A L M U S E U M O F S C I E N C E A N D T E C H N O L O G Y AMPARO SEBASTIAN CAUDET - RUTH LOPEZ CAMPOS A B S T R A C T Amongst the new acquisitions at the Museo Nacional de Ciencia y Tec- nologia (MNCT Spain), we must emphasise two astronomical compendia from the 16th century. One of them is attributed to Philippe Danfrie and the second is signed by Ulrich Schniep.* The new compendium now attributed to Danfrie after a comparative analysis, bears the coat of arms of the English Tudor Royal Arm with the lion and dragon, the rose and crown of the Tudor Family that were en- graved next to the monogram with the initials "E.R." The result of this study suggests that the monogram "E.R." belongs to Queen Elizabeth Tu- dor of England, leaving out the possibility that
