Die Lehre der sogenannten Antoniusbriefe von der Go es- und Engelschau und das Problem unterschiedlicher spiritueller Traditionen im frühen ägyptischen Mönchtum (Tübingen: Mohr Siebeck, 2009) (Studien und Texte zu Antike und Christentum, 52) XII, 308 p. ISBN 978-3-16149729-2. Dmitr Bumazhnov wrote his second monograph (a er Der Mensch als Go es Bild in christlicher Ägypten, 2006; cf. Scr 4 (2008) 435­441) in the same field as the first: he explores a itudes regarding the possibility of visions of God in different milieus of early Egyptian monasticism. In his latest book, his main question is the possibility (or the non-possibility) of seeing incorporeal realities through corporeal eyes, and the main object of his study is the corpus of the epistles ascribed to St Antony the Great, portions of which are merged with the corpus ascribed to Abba Ammonas. And his main stimulus seems to be the famous monograph of Samuel Rubenson on the same topic (The Le ers of St. Antony. Origenist Theology, Monastic Tradition, and the Making of a Saint, 1990; 21995).
