The new collection from Stephen Bevans is the 48 th book to be published in the American Society of Missiology series whose purpose is to publish scholarly works on missiological themes. This volume is a collection of lectures delivered at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago between 2000 and 2010 as part of the ongoing series of Louis J. Luzbetak Lectures on Mission and Culture. According to Bevans’ introduction this book celebrates Luzbetak’s reconciling efforts to bring together mission and culture. Bevans describes Luzbetak as ‘a Christian, a missionary, a religious and a priest first; but he was also a leading anthropologist, an author, a researcher’ (p. 2). These lectures attempt to reflect Fr Luzbetak’s ecumenical vision and commitment. This is indeed a fascinating collection.
