Reports on IAMS Projects and Activities 132 Reports on IAMS Projects and Activities Biblical Studies and Missiology (BISAM) One of the key projects of IAMS has been BISAM. Early in the mandate of this Executive Committee, it was decided to ask John Pobee to be the coordinator of the project. That, however, did not start in vacuo. There were projects which were already in the works: (i) A manuscript on the ideas of Mission in the Bible was submitted with a view to publication. But readers' reviews and consistency with original brief discouraged its publication. (ii) There was and is the well-known study of Witness in Biblical Scholarship which is based at I.I.M.O., Leiden, Holland, under the most able leadership of Prof. Dr. Marc Spindler. You are familiar with periodic reports in I.A.M.S. Journal Mission Studies vol. III-2, 1986:.65-87 and vol. IV-I. 1987: 65-70. Marc Spindler's Visa for Witness: A New Focus on the Theology of Mission and Ecumenism was commented upon by David Bosch, Lesslie Newbigin, George M. Soares-Prabhu, H. Dan Beeby, John Parratt. Since the last Congress, IIMO added to its contribution, Martin Walton's Witness in Biblical Scholarship: A Survey of Recent Studies 1956-1980 (1986).
