Printed in The Netherlands List of Contributors Helle Blomquist has a Master of Arts degree in history as well as a Master of Law degree and Ph.D. in Law.; her doctoral dissertation dealt with professionaliza- tion of the Danish legal profession and the ethics of practicing lawyers and has been published as Lawyers’ Ethics , Copenhagen: DJØF, 2000. She is Assistant Professor in legal history at Copenhagen University, Faculty of Law. Dr. Blomquist has studied at the University of Sheffi eld, Arizona State University, Lund and Helsinki Universities. She has also been a guest lecturer at Vilnius University; her teaching experience has been in the fi elds of in So- ciology of Law, Legal History, Public International Law, European Community Law, and Social Law. Her other publications have focused on the history of health administration and regulation as well as administrative law. Dr. Blomquist’s current research interests are in the modern history of Danish administrative law (in a compara- tive European perspective) and developing perspectives on legal culture and traditions in Baltic Sea Area.
