TUNISIA: LAW NO. 86-85 OF 1986 LAW NO. 86-85 OF 1 SEPTEMBER 1986 RELATING TO THE ENCOURAGEMENT OF TOURIST INVESTMENTS*1 In the name of the People, I, Habib Bourguiba, President of the Tunisian Republic, With the consent of the Chamber of Deputies, Issue the Law, the content of which is as follows: CHAPTER I General provisions Article 1. The aim of the present Law, relating to the encouragement of tourist investments, is to specify the terms and advantages applicable to investments to be effected in Tunisia in the tourist sector. Article 2. The guarantees and advantages provided for by the present Law concern tourist investments which are made by individuals or legal entities and which have been the object of a prior agreement in conformity with the provisions of the present Law. Article 3. Only those investments whose promoters have capital and financial assistance at their disposal, as defined by decree, may benefit from the advantages and guarantees provided for by the present Law. Article 4. Foreign investments approved in conformity with the provisions of the present Law are granted equal status under the present Law. Article 5.
