African Theological Journals in 1995 AFRICAN THEOLOGICAL JOURNALS IN 1995 Leny Lagerwerf For the second time Exchange presents a survey of last year's African theological literature, based on periodicals available at IIMO. Not supris- ingly some of the themes discussed in Wiel Eggen's 1994-overview' remain in focus also in 1995, e.g. the ongoing crisis in Rwanda and Burundi and the implications of the African Synod. Also the limitations of a survey as spelled out by Wiel Eggen are still valid. Not all theological output is known, and from what is available not every issue can be covered. In the absence of continent-wide meetings with leading themes I have somewhat arbitrarily decided to introduce the theological writings under the following headings: Bible/Hermeneutics, Christian Community Life/Marriage; Religious Pluralism/Ecumenism; Church and State. First some remarks, however, on theologizing in Africa in general. Theologizing in Africa In 1994 the First EATWOT Inter-Continental Dialogue was held at Union Theological Seminary in New York (July 12-15, 1994) to straighten out the different views of Africans and Latin Americans regarding EAT- WOT's theological identity. The papers were presented in EATWOT's journal Voices of the Third World of June 1995.
